The first chapter gives a detailed account of the scant and sometimes contradictory evidence for civilization in the pre-history of the peninsula. The author makes no assumptions but sets out the data, and the most common theories surrounding it. He gives just enough information for you to look elsewhere for detail. It’s nice to see the material presented without any ”agenda” other than a historical overview. (William P. Reaves)
